Hey guys,

My wife and I just purchased our first home and it needs a little bit of work. I've never been much of a handy man, my career is in IT, but I'd love to learn to DIY as much as I can. I'm starting with wood working. I have hardly any prior experience at all but I have time and I feel I can learn to do anything.

I started researching recently about tools needed for woodworking and I've read a lot of material. That's how I found your podcast. I just started listening today.

My first step is to acquire my arsenal of tools. There's a whole lot of information out there but I don't know who to trust. I was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction on what tools to start with and maybe which brands. Maybe you have a video/podcast episode that goes over this? I'd be disappointed to spend hundreds of dollars on tools that won't last long.
