Drew Short

(Rock-n H Woodshop)

Hello, and welcome to my world! My name is Drew Short. I live in Moore, Oklahoma, right in the heart of Tornado Alley! I have been married since 2006 to my wife April and I have a daughter, Hannah, since 2011. I have a wonderful life and family with whom I can share. I have been a woodworker since my marriage in 06’ because I finally had the room to do it. I started out with a limited set of mediocre tools that accomplished my needs at the time, but required a lot of patience to achieve my end result. Over the years, my tool collection has grown and my skill set has as well!

Rock-n H Woodshop started in a small one car garage in Norman, OK. In the beginning, I had to take all my tools out of this garage into the sun and I burned while I built my projects. My table saw became very hot, as you could imagine. Not long after April and I married; her grandfather, George Houghton – who was a rancher by trade and owner of the “Rock-n H” brand, became very ill about-us-image and could not continue his hobby of woodworking. Before his passing, he contacted April and me asking if I wanted his shop tools since all they would do is collect dust and rust in his shop. I whole heartily agreed and bee-lined it to his home in Henrietta, OK. There I loaded up the Delta table saw (that I still use to this day), a bandsaw, black and decker port-a-mate and a few odd and end tools that I thought I could use. After a flat and tire replacement on the trailer on the way we hauled it home. With some TLC and patience my new tools became my prized possessions.

My abilities increased along with my love for woodworking, and I took as many commission jobs as possible. I decided that without my wife’s grandfather’s help I would not be where I am now. I wanted to commemorate my new business to him. Thus, “Rock-n H Woodshop” was born!!!

I moved to Moore, Oklahoma in 2008 to a much bigger shop (extra wide 2 car garage) and have slowly been converting it into my dedicated work shop.

I now have committed my life to my family, my job (Full time Registered Radiology Technologist), and my passion to share woodworking with others via YouTube! It has been a learning curve but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I can go on but as you know, the rest is history!!!!!!!

Thank you for being a part of my life and letting me be a part of yours! May God Bless you and your family for many years to come!
